"As a tutor for our son, Katrina has always demonstrated the skills and attributes of a consummate professional. She engages our son at the appropriate level to ensure the best possible learning outcomes and is able to connect with him in a way that allows him to focus and to genuinely enjoy the learning process as much as possible. Katrina’s educational knowledge of English allows her to apply multiple learning methods to assist our son with spelling, reading and writing. She is very encouraging, caring and positive throughout the tutoring sessions. Her compassion and genuine concern for our son highlight her integrity, commitment and strong sense of responsibility to learning." -P.D.
"She has a very calm demeanor, which makes it easy for the children to open up and confide in her. My son is always excited to share stories about his experiences with Katrina, which I believe speaks volumes about the relationship she builds with her students. She is very caring and professional and always takes the time to respond to any questions or concerns we have as parents, either in person or by email." -K.F.
"Our daughter is always interested in the programs that Katrina develops and is engaged in all the activities. She is a confident and very professional teacher. She does a wonderful job of effectively communicating with parents. She is able to competently address concerns that we brought to her attention and she helped us feel comfortable with our daughter's experience. She has also helped us with specific challenges with our daughter by sharing her ideas with us. In addition, Katrina is very caring with the children. She easily recognizes children's special needs, both academic and emotional. Our daughter talks about Katrina all the time...she is very creative and innovative." -B.D.
"We are so pleased with our son's progress. We had a good conversation with him last night about how well he has been doing and you could tell he was proud of himself. Confidence is important and I am noticing a big difference from when you started with him, so thank you." -C.D.
"Our son is calm, happy, and engaged. He looks forward to his lessons. I couldn't help overhear some of the dialogue yesterday, and it reminded me again of just how fortunate we are to have you to guide, nurture, and educate our boys." A.S.
"Our daughter has been really struggling and not getting the help and support she needs from the school board. She was wait listed in Jr Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 for extra help and never got any from the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). In Grade 3 she finally got put on an individual development plan (IDP) but it just isn’t enough. She has been wait listed all year with TDSB for assessment testing as we believe she is dyslexic. We have given up waiting as school year is almost over so we are privately arranging her to be tested to ensure she gets help geared to her needs.
Katrina is an amazing tutor. We started with 4 half hour sessions a week during school. We noticed our daughters improvement right away. We increased the tutor sessions to 16 hours a week over last summer (2021) and it was the best thing we ever did! Our daughter can now read and write basic sentences. We are excited to join this years morning summer camp. We think she will be closer to her grade with the summer commitment again. We arranged a deal with Boys & Girls Club Daycare. They put her in a private room for her tutor in the morning and then she joins the other children for lunch and the second half of the day as both her parents work. I highly recommend Katrina and recommend you get your child the extra help before your child falls so far behind their current grade. Thanks again for all your ongoing support and as you know our daughter loves her tutor sessions and is making fantastic progress with your help." -M.M.
